THE RENOVATION OF A CUMBRIAN CLASSIC COUNTRYSIDE PUB

Another project set in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, this classic country pub had seen better days and despite attempts to save the original structure, it was completely demolished with the exception of one gable. Our task was to create a country pub that felt it had always been there but within a new building. We were very careful to make sure that everything we installed had character such as the uneven flagstones and wall panelling. We also engaged master carvers to create a beautiful carved gantry for the bespoke oak bar, all designed in house at Fantoush. The pub which has just been announced as a finalist in the UK’s Best Country Pub, also boasts four ensuite bedrooms, each with their own personality, combining elements of the traditional with contemporary twists.
